General information

Bison is a dayactive animal with thick, dark brown hair, which in summer season changes to lighter brown. (for heat reduction)

The body and triangle shaped head, small horns and long beard are characteristics of this species.

The length of male and female could reach between 3.8- 2.4 meters. The horns are used in fight to clear the rank within the herd. An adult male could weigh as much as 900 kg and female half as much. Although they have a large body, they could run up to 50km/h and are also good swimmers.
